Door Doctor driver builds on championship lead

ELKHART LAKE, WISCONSIN – Jesse Lazare had a brilliant weekend at Road America, sweeping rounds nine and 10 of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA championship in the headline Platinum class.

Lazare earned his seventh and eighth victories of the season in the No. 21 Kelly-Moss Road and Race Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. "This was the weekend we were looking for," Lazare said. "It is basically the home track for Kelly-Moss, and they gave me a great car all weekend."

Lazare dominated both rounds, but he insists there is more to come. "It was really important for us to have a strong weekend after Watkins Glen, and I have to thank everyone for all their hard work to get us back on track. I think we are now heading in the right direction and there should be more to come at VIR."

Lazare stretched his Platinum Cup lead to a comfortable 26 points with six rounds remaining.

"We have a goal, to win the Platinum class championship, but it really doesn't alter the way I race. I try to win every race, but I also know what our goal is for the year," Lazare added.

Rounds 11-12 of the 2016 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA season are scheduled for August 26 to 28 at VIRginia International Raceway in Danville, Virginia.
